His pupils, the two cental characters that stood behind soon took a bow, climbing up to vanish behind the falling veils, exposing just the whites of his barely open eyes making him look momentarily possessed.
Soon the black words printed on white paper in his Chemistry book began to dissolve as if some spoon had stirred them like cocoa powder in milk and in a sudden loss of control, his head landed with a thud on the textbook.
The impact made his senses go ajar, albeit briefly making him worried, the 30 mark chemistry test was in the third period the next day and he had barely prepared anything.
Having returned from his school this Tuesday, he had calculated a comfortable 7 hours of remaining daytime and with the entire night at his disposal it appeared too easy a task to mug up the 3 chapter syllabus.
By 6 in the evening, 4 hours that passed saw him drift aimlessly on Instagram and witnsessed his fingers gallop on the snapchat keyboard. At the stroke of every hour, his heart requested 30 minutes more before he should keep the phone away and start preparing, while his mind regularly sent pop-ups to alert that the red line had already been crossed. His heart kept winning the argument everytime.
The clock showed it was about thirty minutes to midnight now.
His senses could bear no more punishment of going through the single and double displacement reactions at this hour, they suggested a much needed physical displacement reaction i.e. from the study table to his bed and so he succumbed, deciding to wake up at four in the morning and execute a crash course then.
He keyed in the alarm on his mobile before his inbuilt systems crashed completely resulting in a stream of saliva emanating from his oral cavity onto the pillow.
He successsively dreamt of the school crumbling to bits in an earthquake, the Chemistry teacher being kidnapped and him trying to write the test but his pen would not move.
He then dreamt of his worried mother standing alongside, screaming at him to get up perhaps to study, in response he sought the usual 30 minutes till a jolt hit him, his eyes wide open now, he could sense something was terribly off the charts.
Raising his head, he found his mother standing alongside in physical avatar screaming that it was 7:30 in the morning and he is going to be late for school.
In his debilitated state last night, he had set the alarm to go off at 4 am on Thursday●
The question to anyone who reads this...What should the boy do once he is up on his feet?
